What is Muharram? What is Ashura? Is Ashura just a historical event of Karbala or does Muharram really mean something else?

Ashura means day of
mourning,Ashura means day of weeping. But why this cry why this grief?

From papers to Ashura, only the incident of Karbala is mentioned. It seems that only Karbala happened in Ashura.

Hazrat Hussain (RA)’s martyrdom occurred in 61 Hijri, 50 years after the death of the Prophet Hazrat Rasoolullah (S).
Now since this Karbala takes place on the day of Ashura, one claims that
Ashura means Karbala. And Karbala means mourning day.

But my Rasool (S.) has
fulfilled Shariat before his death. Nothing new will be added to the Shariah
after the death of the Prophet (S.). The special thing is that our Prophet has said some
words and deeds about this Ashura. So bringing innovation in this matter means bidat. But of
course the incident of Karbala is heartbreaking.

Muharram is one of the four respected months. Ashura means ten. According to tradition,
Ashura means “tenth of
Muharram”.

From the hadith two incidents are reported on this day of Ashura

  1. He made a way through
    the sea for Bani Yisrael.
  2. By drowning Pharaoh
and his followers in the sea.
    There are many other
    fabricated cases.

Day of Ashura
Ibn Abbas (R.A.) said:
The Prophet (S.) migrated to Madina. When he did, he saw- Bani Yisrael were fasting on the day of Ashura. Prophet asked Why did you keep this fast? They said it was a good Day on which Allah Saved Bani Israel from their pharaoh. So Musa (A.S.) Fasts as thanksgiving kept. Rasulullah (SAW) said, I am more entitled than you to (follow) Musa.” Then he fasted and commanded others to fast. (Imam
Bukhari, As-Sahih: 2004]

The Prophet (S.) fasted for two days in order not to associate with Bani Israel. Ashura day is a fast Another fast on the day. before or after it.
